This photo I took recently on the way from Melrose to Edinburgh reminds me of frescos painted on walls of churches. As immodest as it sounds, I love the colours of the sky and the puffy cumulus clouds.

Biscuits from the Middle East

These biscuits came all the way from a place on the shores of the Persian Gulf. Three different kinds of pastry stuffed with date paste – home made by my boyfriend’s mum and sister. They were scrumptious! My favourite were the ones sprinkled with sesame seeds.

There are special moulds to give the biscuits their embellished shape.
